Weekly Photo Challenge: Forces Of Nature …

The challenge this week is:  This week, share a force of nature from your corner of the world. It can be something as large as the Grand Canyon, or as small as the tiny seedling steadily breaking is way through the concrete in your driveway.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You can’t actually see the forces of nature at work in these pictures of the Gay Head Lighthouse on the island of Martha’s Vineyard… but it’s because of the erosion of the cliffs that the lighthouse is now being moved.  It stands perilously close to the edge, a mere 46 feet from the edge.  The move has already begun and the lighthouse is expected to soon be in its new location.  For anyone interested, the website is Save The Gay Head Lighthouse… CLICK HERE for link.
Weekly Photo Challenge: Motion …
“The challenge this week is to share your photographs that have captured motion, and tell us the stories behind the images”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

My photographs are of the Flying Horses on the island of Martha’s Vineyard.  The Flying Horses are the oldest platform carousel in the United States.  It was  brought to the Island in 1884 from Coney Island.

I’ve been riding on these Flying Horses since I was a toddler and still do when I get the chance.
